Job agency aiming high
Finding $1 million worth of jobs in the Northside Chronicle area in June is the aim of a new campaign launched by employment agency Sarina Russo Job Access.
Sarina Russo Job Access manager at Nundah, Sue Watson, wants to place as many jobseekers in local jobs as possible.
The campaign's aim is to engage the business community and encourage them to give a local person a local job.
Ms Watson described her catchment area as a "a wonderful mix of industrial, retail, admin and hospitality job opportunities".
"It is a buoyant job market that offers opportunities for all types of jobseekers from blue to white collar," she said.
"In our area, employers are always looking for skilled workers.
"Jobseekers should be prepared to upgrade their skills."
If you are an employer needing staff, or if you know an employer who needs staff, Sarina Russo Job Access has thousands of locals ready to work straight away.
It plans to add the annual salaries of all of the successful candidates placed in work in June to calculate the success of the campaign.
The agency will keep the community informed of the jobs goal and the benefits for the local community.
