Big push for local jobs
Achieving $1 million worth of jobs in the Caboolture Shire Herald area in June is the aim of a new campaign launched by employment agency Sarina Russo Job Access.
Sarina Russo Job Access manager at Strathpine Meaghan Theobald wants to place as many local jobseekers in local jobs as possible.
The campaign s aim is to engage the business community and encourage them to give a local jobseeker a local job.
"In our manufacturing dominated labour market, jobseekers are finding it difficult to locate positions such as business administration, reception and retail," Ms Theobald said.
"The vibe from employers at present is that the manufacturing market is picking up and in the last month I have received an increase of factory orientated positions," she said.
By contrast, retail industry employers said their business was still only "steady", she said.
Ms Theobald is full of praise for Pine Rivers employers.
"They are the lifeblood of the community," she said.
If you are an employer needing staff, or if you know an employer who needs staff, Sarina Russo Job Access has thousands of locals ready to work straight away.
