1. Determine the industry sector in which you want to work and upgrade your skills. In such a competitive job market, Sarina Russo is experiencing a demand for entry level qualifications (Cert II level) in retail, hospitality, business administration, financial services and customer contact.

 

2. Seriously consider self employment including subcontracting, consultancy work or setting up a small business. The New Incentive Enterprise Scheme trains and mentors people to run their own business and be their own boss. Candidates graduate with a Cert IV in Small Business.

 

3. Be confident in your own abilities. The knowledge and experience you have is a great selling point to employers. Make the most of your networks especially previous work associates as well as people you know through clubs and groups, everything from the golf club to Lions or Rotary.
